Thread count is a term that’s often exclusive to bed linens, while most fabric materials are measured by their GSM, or Grams per Square Meter.
GSM is the weight of fabric if you take a sheet of material which is one meter by one square meter and weigh it in grams (g/m2). Strictly speaking, there is no comparison to be made between GSM and thread count.
The GSM of our Reusable Cloth Masks is 170 +/-5% and our cloth fabric is 100% cotton. A medium-weight GSM is 150-350 GSM and heavyweight is considered to be 350+ GSM, such as PVC.
